In order to do this, managers should integrate his or her job with the vision, mission and objectives of the organization. Moreover, s/he should implement day-to-day activities with a focus of attaining them through respective jobs.
There is relevance for the basic management functions in office management. To manage activities of office to attain organizational success, an office manager should be adept of utilizing the concepts of Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling and Coordinating. S/he should also manage non-human resources and promote human resources available in the organization.
Office management also demands certain skills on the part of the manager, for example, skills of managing files, inventory, implementing office norms and values, designing and decorating of office to suit the functional requirements, good working habits etc. These skills do not develop in a day. Rather, these are the results of continuous practice over a reasonable period. In course of time, office managers help others develop the organizational culture. That’s the time, when an organization knows what to do even in absence of an instruction and turns into a sustainable dynamic organization.

People are born with lots of potentials. They can bring changes in their lives if they want and act accordingly. There has to be enabling environment and processes through which people can bring their desired changes in their personal, family, organizational and societal lives. In this process education and training have always been found as vehicles to utilize their potentials in the desired directions.
Moreover, in the process of building human capacity, one of the great challenges is to develop a critical mass of professionals who can develop other human resources.
The course Training of Trainers (TOT) is prepared for the staff members of icddr,b. The present course has been designed to introduce the participants on the basic concepts and principles of adult learning. Emphasis has been given to build the conceptual and actionable understanding, facilitation skills, and managing training courses effectively and efficiently.
A group of senior training professionals of icddr,b is involved in implementing this course. Hope the combined efforts of the facilitators and the participants would make the training course a successful one.

icddr,b Code of Conduct (CoC) describes the principles that guide the behavior expected of all icddr,b staff (Fixed Term, CSA, Daily Wager) and any other persons or groups who perform work or speak on behalf of icddr,b or represent icddr,b to others. The Code refers to all such persons and groups considered as associated personnel, except where otherwise specified.
icddr,b expects every individual acting on behalf of or representing icddr,b to know and understand the Code of Conduct and follow the spirit of its principles. Therefore, Human Resources (HR) of icddr,b has initiated to arrange number of sessions to build up awareness around Code of Conduct among all staff and associates so that all must understand, respect and maintain Code of Conduct.
